lyrics

Please, tell me what’s the difference between an item and an object?
Because when you change from saying one to the other it confuses the hell out of me
I know they mean the same by definition, but is that what you’re after?
A subliminal hint suggesting an inside joke and failing to disclose it to me?

CHORUS
Where is the point in all of it?
So many homonyms
We’re all isomers, we’re made up of the same components
And yet we’re different
And yet we’re all the same

And they tell one thing, and that one thing has a double meaning
And yet the reality is an opposition to that, and the loopholes make no sense
The fine print contradicts its thesis, and yet it wants to say something else
And the double-edged sword is the letter opener used on its envelope

Chorus

And if things were really great
They wouldn’t have to utilize such a grand code
And if things were really great
I wouldn’t have to be in alert mode
And my circuits are failing
From paradox inside of paradox inside of paradox
Inside of bound contract
That I never signed, but they have my fingerprints
And connected them so I had to oblige

And we’re all isomers
We have our distinctions, but we’re written similar
And yet we’re different
And yet we’re all the same
